Ephesians 1:15-2:10
Who are you? Lots of ways to answer that question: Relationally (spouse, parent, child), vocationally (technician, engineer, teacher), emotionally (happy, hurting, depressed). But who are you spiritually? How’s your “spiritual self-image”?
· A self-image problem…in the world, and in the church!
· Paul’s prayer: That our spiritual eyes will be opened! (1:18)
To know the hope of His calling (our destiny!)
To know the wealth of His glorious inheritance (our value!)
To know the greatness of His power (our victory!)
· Your ‘In Christ’ Self-Image
What God’s power did for Christ physically!
o Raised Him from the dead (1:20a)
o Seated Him in the heavenlies (1:20b)
What God’s power has done for You spiritually!
o Raised you from the dead with Him (2:1,5)
o Seated you in the heavenlies with Him (2:6)
· Who you are: A trophy of God’s grace, destined for glory!
God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms… Eph. 2:6
